Carla holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and worked in the engineering field before relocating to Chattanooga. She then spent three and a half years teaching in the Electrical Engineering Technology program at Chattanooga State. Over the years, she has continued teaching at Chattanooga State while also leading math classes for homeschool students and tutoring math and physics for students at McCallie School.

In the early 2000s, Carla began incorporating online learning into her classes by using Google Hangouts to include remote students and launching a YouTube channel to provide instructional videos. She continues to enjoy tutoring online, regularly working with students across the United States and abroad.

Carla first taught a math class at Hilger many years ago and is excited to return with a course that utilizes the Delta Math platform. Having successfully used this platform while tutoring students from other schools, she believes it will be a valuable asset for many Hilger families.
