Charissa is a farm girl from Flandreau, SD where her dad and brothers still farm.  She earned her degree in Elementary Education from Augustana University, and her Masters in Reading from the University of Sioux Falls, both located in South Dakota.  She has taught many different grade levels and subject matters over the years, and has coached a variety of sports at the middle and high school levels.  Charissa likes to use a hands-on, collaborative learning style in the classroom to make learning fun, and she is excited to show her students how history is God’s story - how He was actively involved then and is actively involved now. She recently moved to Chattanooga with her husband and four children; ages 17, 15, 13, and 11. As a family they like to read, attend numerous sporting events, play volleyball in the backyard, and travel to as many of the 50 states as they possibly can to experience the rich history of our great nation.
